I think these Ping beryllium copper irons are the best irons ever made! I got this set including the sand and lob wedges for 300 dollars about 15 years ago. I have tried so many other clubs for whatever reasons but always come back to the best. I am back to the Eye 2 BeCu for good now! Maybe it is the shaft (Ping microtaper) or just the way the dark colored head frames the ball at address. I just flat out score better with these clubs. These irons are for golfers of every level. They are easy to hit and VERY forgiving.
Also, I think you can shape shots better with these irons than other brands. The lofts are weaker and as a result you will find you need to use more club than the newer irons. Now, the best part.... the BeCu square grooves model Pings are number one when it comes to spinning the ball. The ball even stops nicely out of the rough and around the greens the wedges are beautiful!! Nothing is better than a nice old set of copper Ping irons that are a dark chocolate color with some polishing of the metal on the sole and in the sweet spot!! Believe me, I have tried Zings, i3, ISI, Callaway, Taylor Made and they all are nice and high quality but just can not compare to the original Eye 2's.

Also, keep in mind, if you get a set of used Eye 2 BeCu Pings, you will be getting a set of clubs that will only increase in value (due to the collectability of Ping copper clubs). Look what Callaway has to do to drum up sales- reintroduce the Big Bertha irons. Just go on eBAY and look at the prices for used Ping Eye 2 irons and you will see how these cheap ping eye 2 clubs stand the test of time.
